Amrita Pritam ji, rich in amazing talent, was one of those great litterateurs, whose first compilation was published at the age of 16 only. In 1947, Amrita Pritam had seen the partition of India-Pakistan very closely and felt its pain.
In his poem “Aaj Aakhan Waris Shah Nu”, written in the 18th century, he showed his anger through this poem during the Indo-Pak partition, as well as expressed his pain in a very emotional way.
This poem of his also became very famous and it gave him a different identity in literature.
